Our Story
CalFoods Logistics (CFL) has been selected by California Department of Social Services (CDSS) to be the new intermediary for The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) effective January 1, 2021. In this role, we will be providing United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) food commodities to 48 food banks who will distribute them to eligible individuals and households within 58 counties.
During our first two months, CFL delivered directly to 23 satellite food banks covering 30 counties. CFL also monitors direct deliveries from USDA to the remaining food banks serving the other 28 counties in our State. All-in-all, TEFAP providers are serving approximately 1.7 million people on a monthly basis. Our Impact
In addition to the above work, we have been supporting other efforts of fighting hunger with CDSS. For instance, we assisted food banks by providing approximately 506 truckloads of food and diapers with $50 million of Coronavirus Relief Funds provided by the State. This resulted in more than 17 million pounds between November 2020 and March 2021 of shelf-stable food and diapers for Californians. Our team provides many decades of expertise in customer service, logistical planning, warehousing, food procurement and food banking. We are also a passionate team always looking for ways to help and serve the nutritional needs of our State. For general questions, please contact us at [email protected].
